Regular attendance of exhibitions tailored specifically for our products and target markets keep us up to date with technological advances.  Being a member of The Welcome to Yorkshire organisation we were recently invited to the Y14 held at the Harrogate conference centre to hear about the plans for the Tour de France and Grand Départ.

Being located in the centre of Leeds we are fortunate to be positioned in and amongst some beautiful historic buildings dating back to the 1800’s heaped with history and yet new offices, restaurants and apartments continue to evolve on Wellington Street, most recently in the form of the approved development of Central Square which is emerging as the new West End of Leeds which is set to hold prestigious offices, winter and sky gardens.

Our building in 1800’s was formally known as Wellington Hotel, owned by John Stockill with a luggage shop situated at No. 62 next door to our premises. Horses and carriages would be seen instead of the modern vehicles which are on the roads today.  It is reported that during the late 40’s in the basement of No. 62, Henry Warner was found beaten almost to death and was taken to hospital where police waited at his bedside for a few words that might help them find his attacker but he died without recovering consciousness and his killer was never found.

The Leeds Central railway station was once situated directly opposite our building and opened in 1848. The cramped LNW terminus at Wellington Street, with the line to Dewsbury closed in 1967, when its services were moved to Leeds City Station to consolidate all of Leeds train services in one station. Part of the Leeds Central station site had previously been Royal Mail sorting office and is currently being developed into Central Square

We continue to pride ourselves in producing outstanding workmanship for all official opening plaques being commissioned to produce several plaques for the refurbishment of the Cutty Sark which was officially re opened by Her Majesty The Queen, during her Diamond Jubilee year in 2012.

In December 2013 we provided Barnardo’s with a stainless steel plaque for the opening of their new office which was jointly opened by Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall.  The opening was shown on national television and our plaque has pride of place in their reception area.

Over the years we have supplied many types of plaques for other members of the Royal family to unveil which are situated around the country in various locations.  We are used to working to very tight delivery deadlines and confidentiality agreements for all types of commemorative plaques and awards.
